Federation of Neighborhood Centers

Provider Type:
Basic Training

The Federation of Neighborhood Centers promotes and strengthens neighborhood-based, multi-service agencies that principally serve low income people in the Greater Philadelphia region. A 106 year old membership organization rooted in the history and values of the settlement house movement, we support our member organizations through policy development, advocacy and capacity building activities.

In all, our member agencies serve tens of thousands of Philadelphia residents with myriad programs and services ranging from full day day care, teen employment and job readiness programs, emergency services such as food cupboards and homeless prevention and supplemental education activities. Most of those served fall below 200% of the Federal Income Poverty Guidelines, many survive just at those levels.

In these unprecedented times the Federation is harnessing a new energy to meet the challenges of the recession and beyond, and to keep our members strong and vibrant so they can continue their good works in some of our most troubled neighborhoods.
