Training Description:
The presentation includes a basic overview of types of sexual abuse, the myths about sexual abuse, signs and symptoms of sexual abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder. The workshop will also address worker resistance to intervening with sexually abused children/adolescents and will discuss “best-practice” intervention skills. Participants will learn to identify common misconceptions and “cop-outs” used by workers to avoid dealing directly with issues of sexual abuse.
